Slim Jaziri

Kanoun
Slim Jaziri was born in Tunis in 1965. At a very early age, he received his first influences in music from his father Abdulkader Jaziri, one of the exceptional musicians in qanun. He got his diploma in Arabic music in 1985 and also his degree in qanun in 1998. Slim Jaziri is now a member of one of the most important music ensembles in Tunisia and also teaches qanun in the High Institute of Music in Tunisia.  He has recently even published a method of teaching qanun. Moreover he is involved with the part of composition developing with time a wide range of his own creations. 
He has already many participations in various concerts around the world (Europe, America, Asia, Africa). Among his most important performances is his participation in the days of qanun in the Arab and Mediterranean Music Centre in Tunis (2000), in The Medina Festival as a soloist (2001), in the World Qanun meeting in Lebanon in the context of the MediMuses project (2003) and in the nights of soloist (2006).
