Alexandre Desplat develops his incomparable artistic skills to create a musical identity for films diverse films such as: “The Queen” by Stephen Frears, “The Ghost Writer” by Roman Polanski, “The King’s Speech” by Tom Hooper, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” by David Fincher, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” by David Yates, “Ides of March” by George Clooney.
A prolific musician who relishes the challenge of writing music that complements, fleshes out and gives dimension to the worlds created on the “big screen”. His musical eclecticism – inherited from his Greek mother, French father, and his international studies on various styles – allows him to fully mix different musical languages.
A two-time Oscar winner for the soundtracks to the films “Shape of Water” and “The Grand Budapest Hotel” and a ten-time Oscar nominee, he has already won Golden Globe Awards, Grammy Awards, Baftas, Cesar and many other awards. He is one of the most brilliant composers of his generation.
For the first time in Thessaloniki, he will be the conductor of Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra in a program with his most favorite pieces, conveying the magic of film music to the audience.
