The performance signifies a historic first for the Greek music scene, offering local audiences their inaugural opportunity to experience live the ensemble that The New York Times has hailed as “America’s finest orchestra.”
The orchestra is led by Austrian conductor Franz Welser-Möst, who will step down in 2027 after an impressive 25-year tenure at the helm of TCO. His leadership has defined an era of exceptional artistic blossoming, international tours, and groundbreaking productions.
With a history spanning over a century, The Cleveland Orchestra (TCO) is the youngest of the US "Big Five", the historic elite of America's top five orchestras, and serves as a global benchmark for symphonic music.
