In 2012 thousands of audience members turned it into the performance of the year, reviving Attik’s legendary ‘Mandra’ - the epic tale of the life of Kleonas Triantafyllou and his generation.
In 2018 the old gang (Alexandros Bourdoumis, Angelos Papadimitriou, Akis Sakellariou and Zozo Sapountzaki) are setting up ‘Mandra’ once again, rejuvenated and with a dynamic cast, with the collaboration of the exceptional Nandia Kontogeorgi and Katerina Papoutsaki, as well as a large group of talented actors, singers, musicians and dancers.
The performance has been enriched with new texts and songs, the fruit of the systematic historical and musical research carried out using the knowledge and gravitas of Lambros Liavas. The performance is once again directed and choreographed by Sophia Spyratou. Thodoros Kotepanos undertook orchestration and conduction of the orchestra, Manolis Pantelidakis supervised the design of the new impressive sets and costumes, while the performance is being produced by Michalis Adam.
A charming performance that invites present day audiences to become immersed in the exact memories and feelings that sealed our sensitivities A fulfilling musical-dance review that isn’t trying to be retro, instead it is focusing on being funny, sarcastic, gentle and moving. Melodies and lyrics that affected all creators that followed them and have accompanied entire generations in love, joy and sorrow (You asked me to tell you, Poppy, Youth, I saw eyes, The last of the jasmine, etc.).
Attik and his era, the sounds, voices, instruments and wonderful music, figures of an ideal cast... ‘Mandra’, the muscial courtyard of wonders... The world of ‘Mandra’, ‘Mandra’ and its world... The great artistry of small songs that still concerns and inspires us!
