Lydia Venieri (born in Athens, Greece) lives and works in New York City. She studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and won the Académie Française de Paris Medal for Sculpture in 2000.
Her work has been shown in many solo and group exhibitions at prestigious venues worldwide including the Centre George Pompidou in Paris, Circulo de Bellas Artes Madrid, Cultural Centre of Stockholm, Gallery Asbaek Copenhagen, Manifesta Rotterdam, the National Gallery of Greece, the Ancien Musée Archéologique Municipalité de Thessalonique, the Centre for Contemporary Art in Dordrecht, Netherlands and the Athens Olympics, Palais de Tokyo.
