Lucy Nolan

Harp
Lucy Nolan is a sought-after harpist who is equally at home performing in concert halls, jazz clubs, orchestra pits, even industrial installations.
Transcending music genres is at the core of her performance whether it is free improvisation, playing from a written score or a merging cultures and expanding her expressive performance style.
Lucy gained postgraduate degrees  from Oxford University and the Royal Northern College of music with Distinction. She was a finalist in the RNCM’s Gold Medal weekend; the highest accolade awarded for performance which has led to her being a guest harpist with many of the UK’s largest orchestras such as the Hallé, Manchester Concert Orchestra and the Royal Northern Sinfonia in world-renowned venues.
A recipient of the ‘Developing Your Creative Practice Grant’ from the Arts Council and the ‘Do it Differently’ award from Help Musicians, Lucy has enhanced and transformed her performance practice by composing her own works as well as commissioning new pieces for the harp.
