PRANASA

PRANASA are a new ensemble created in 2019 at Snape Malting UK.
They take their name from the Sanskrit word ‘Prana’, meaning ‘ultimate breath’, and ‘Anasa’, Greek for ‘Breath’, PRANASA aim to do nothing less than breathe music.

PRANASA are a new ensemble created in 2019 at Snape Malting UK. They use their own musical and cultural backgrounds to shape, shift and manipulate known pieces through improvisation, changing keys and modes with the use of  instrumental and vocal techniques as well electronics.

The programme evolves as PRANASA improvises on stage. Tonight’s programme is based on Yanna’s journey since leaving Greece in 1988 to live abroad in America and Britain, until now, when she has decided to return back to her homeland.
