Double bass
Born in 1961 in Genoa, he began the study of double bass under the guidance of E. Benzi; he graduated with A. Capanni at the Conservatory of Genoa in 1987. He also specialized in jazz double bass participating in workshops with teachers such as David Holland, J.F.J. Clark, Charlie Haden, Buster Williams, Roberto Della Grotta and with P.Arcà for harmony and composition.
He started in Genoa performing with his own formations and in different groups, such as Jazz Medley, Kranio, the trio Rao, the Braibop (with A. Braido alla chitarra).
Over the years he has taken part in various tours in Italy and abroad, alternating the commitments between symphony orchestras, operas, chamber formations, Jazz groups and light music.
Among others he collaborated with Lee Konitz, Chet Baker, Steve Lacy, Paul Lovens, Misha Mengelberg, Tristan Hossinger (of the Globe Unity Orchestra), P. Gullin, F. Don Moye and J. Jarman (from the Ensemble of Chicago) .
For over ten years he has been playing with the "Mish Mash Quartet" (training of ethnic music) at various organizations and organizations in Italy (Roman Philharmonic Academy, Teatro Argentina in Rome, Teatro Paisiello di Lecce, etc.) and abroad (Austria, Switzerland, Germany, etc.)
In 1999 he recorded with the "Mish Mash Quartet" the first cd "Delta", ed. In 2002, the second "Parvanè" and the third "Yasaman" were released.
He also recorded with Marilia Vesco the so-called "Marilia's city", with Andrea Braido in "Jazz Garden & Friends", with Cadira in "Aradas" (together with Mario Arcari), in "Lullabies for E.T. children "by Leo Cesari," Latin Jazz Ax "(INDACO 2016)" Adije "Takadum Orchestra (2017)," Acoustic Tarab Alchemy "(Odradek Records 2018).
He also performed with the "Tangier Cafè Orchestra" by Jamal Ouassini, the Marilia Vesco group, in the Cicci Santucci quintet, the Hot Club de Zazz, the jazz trio of Andrea Braido and was the first double bass in the "Franco Rossellini" Orchestra. "And in the" S. Cecilia "of Rome in 2016/2017.
