Mishmash Quartet

Music Ensemble
The Mishmash Quartet (mobile term that in various languages contains different meanings related to the concept of "mixing") is now formed by Marco Valabrega on violin and viola, with Nicola Pignatiello on guitar (student of the famous and regretted Maestro Domenico Ascione, founder of the group), Bruno Zoia on double bass and Mohssen Kasirossafar on Persian percussions, proposes a very original and fascinating version of the complex of sounds that inhabit the Mediterannean, the Middle Eastern world, the countries of the East.
The main ideas are in the klezmer repertoire (the music of the askhenazite Jewish communities), in the Sephardic romances that embrace a territory from Spain to Turkey, in the traditional pieces of Persian and Middle-Eastern music, in the original and original pieces inspired by these same musical cultures, with arrangement and execution choices that recreate that "vagabond" flavor that has always characterized these repertoires.
The quartet, which regularly performs in numerous festivals in major Italian and foreign cities, also participating in radio and television broadcasts, the latest of which at the Quirinale Concert of 27 January 2019 live Radio3Rai has released three albums for the Finisterre receiving gratifying acclaim from part of the public and specialized press: the first album, "Delta", the second "Parvanè" and the third and more recent "Yasaman".
The quartet has been collaborating for years with prestigious singers of different backgrounds, from Laura Polimeno, to Faye Nepon, from Evelina Meghnagi to Yasemin Sannino, to Bente Kahan and has created the stage music of some prestigious theatrical
productions.
