Aurelio and Paolo Pollice, studied respectively with Sergio Perticaroli at the Conservatory Santa Cecilia in Rome and with Antonio Ballista at the Conservatory Giuseppe Verdi in Milan.
Having won numerous national piano competitions as soloists, they followed some master classes, held by Vincenzo Vitale, Nunzio Montanari, Massimo Bertucci and Sergio Fiorentino, important for their formation.
Their intensive concert activity has taken them not only to some of the most important Italian cities but also to Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Poland, Romania, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and USA as well. They made the first performances of works by Anzaghi, Boccadoro, Bosco, Castiglioni, Lorenzini and Molino at important musical Festivals, among them “The Fifth Week of Contemporary Music”, organised by The Academy of France, “The Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples”, “The International Piano Festival” in Naples” and “The Arcavacata Music Festival”. They have given lots of concerts for piano for four hands and orchestra and 2 pianos and orchestra with prestigious ensembles as The Sofia Soloists, The Zagreb Soloists, The Russian Camerata, The Polish Philharmonic Orchestra etc.
Their recordings have been transmitted by the Radio France, the Radio Vaticana, The RAI Radio 3 and the Hungarian Radio. The success they had at the Berlin Chamber Music Festival in 2001 assured the following invitations of the duet for the successive concert seasons in many European countries. In November 2002 the duet made its debut in Madrid with a concert aired by Radio Clásica de Radio Nacional de Espana and also participated at the Bilbao International Festival. In 2003-2004 the duet made its debut in U.S.A., Mexico and again Russia (St. Petersburg and Moscow). In the last years they played many times in Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, U.S.A. and Turkey. Aurelio and Paolo teach piano at the Fausto Torrefranca Music Conservatory in Vibo Valentia and their students have been winners of national and international piano competitions.
Paolo Pollice has also collaborated with Bruxelles Chamber Orchestra, Latvian Philharmonic Orchestra, Burgas, Bacau and Rimiciu-Valsea Philharmonic Orchestra and Bucharest Symphonic Orchestra. He has also played with important soloists, among them the guitarist Alirio Diaz.
Putting aside his University studies, he took a degree in Musicology at the University of Bologna, summa cum laude with a degree thesis on the Carthusian Monk, supervisor Professor Nino Albarosa and, since then, he has been continuing his research with publications and participations at international congresses.
