Fabio Fausone

Fabio Fausone was born in Turin, the 3rd of April of 1992. He started to study the cello when he was 6 years old in a music school in Turin and then he entered the Conservatorio Di Musica “Giuseppe Verdi” di Torino in 2003 with Sergio Patria. In 2007 he continued studying with Massimo Macrì, principal cellist of the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai. He graduated with the highest honours in September 2012.
In June 2014 he received his Master of Arts in Music Performance at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana where he is currently pursuing his studies in Master of Music in Specialized Music Performance, both masters under the tutelage of Enrico Dindo. At the same time, he attends the Special Courses at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole with Natalia Gutman.
For the school year 2013/2014 he has received the ESKAS Scholarship, offered by the Swiss Government. He is also a recipient of the “De Sono Associazione per la Musica di Torino” scholarship since 2013.
At a very early age he started playing in orchestras and in chamber music groups; he is principal cellist of the “Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino” and he plays regularly with the “Filarmonica ‘900 del Teatro Regio”, “Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana”, “Orchestra Archi De Sono”. He has collaborated in chamber music projects with great musicians such as Massimo Quarta, Enrico Dindo, Danilo Rossi, Piergiorgio Rosso, Massimo Macrì and Sergio Lamberto. He is a full member of the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) since 2013; he has played in such festivals as Abu Dhabi Festival, Young Euro Classic Berlin, Bozen Festival, Ravello Festival, Grafenegg Festival, under the conduction of directors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Krzysztof Urbanski and Thomas Søndengård.
Masterclasses and summer courses with Thomas Demenga, Antonio Meneses ,Umberto Clerici, Stefano Cerrato, Elizabeth Wilson, Clauss Kanngiesser, Daniel Grosgurain and Stefano Guarino.
