Trio Tritonous

The Piano Trio Tritonous was founded in 2005 by three very active musicians, not only in the area of chamber music but also as soloists. They formed the trio during their studies at the University for Music and Dramatic Arts in Graz, where in the course of two years they completed the Master’s in chamber music with distinction, being students of the renowned Chia Chou. They gained further artistic impulses from musicians such as Christos and Katherina Polyzoides, Rudolf Leopold, Stefan Goerner, Martin Hornstein, Dimitrius Polisoidis, Régis Bringolf and Florian Berner (Hugo Wolf Quartett).
From the beginning, the trio was supported by the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation “Live Music Now.” Furthermore, the ensemble is portrayed and promoted in the talents’ platform of the Austrian Broadcasting Company OE1′s website. Concerts brought the young musicians not only through Austria (e.g. Kulturzentrum bei den Minoriten in Graz, Remise in Bludenz, Alte Schmiede, the Leopold Museum in Vienna, live broadcast on OE1 of the concert “Ton Art – Best of” of the University for Music and Dramatic Arts in Graz), but also to Germany, Hungary and Greece (e.g. Dimitria Festival 2007 in Thessaloniki). In 2007, the Trio Tritonous won second prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Thessaloniki.
The young trio places emphasis on contemporary music and is lucky to have brought numerous compositions, many of which were written for them, to their first performance.
The members of Trio Tritonus are:
Kathrin Lenzenweger, violin
Maria Mylaraki, piano
Philipp Comploi, cello
