2025 holds immense significance for us, Quartetto di Cremona, as we mark our 25th anniversary. It is an honor to have the Megaron of Salonicco as a pivotal stop on our “Quartetto di Cremona 25th anniversary world tour.”
To celebrate this momentous occasion, we have curated a special program titled “Perspectives.”
Our journey begins with a captivating blend of Italian and Austrian influences, as envisioned by the renowned composer Hugo Wolf. Wolf’s unique interpretation of Italian “belcanto” sets the stage for an unforgettable musical experience.
Next, we delve into the rich tapestry of Hungarian traditional music, featuring Bartok Quartet No. 1. This masterpiece often misunderstood as complex and dissonant, reveals the true brilliance of Bartok as a creator of beautiful melodies, harmonious textures, and rhythmic elegance.
Our musical journey takes us to the realm of Romanticism, where the extraordinary Robert Schumann and his magnificent Quartet No. 2 await. This rarely performed gem stands as a highlight of Schumann’s quartet production, transporting listeners to a world of magic, dreaminess, drama, intensity, sweetness, and passion.
