Christophe Coin, one of the most important baroque cellists and gamba players of our time worldwide, collaborates with the outstanding Italian harpsichordist and forte pianist Paolo Zanzu in a recital dedicated to the Berlin school of the viola da gamba. The program presents the last repertoire written for this instrument, in the second half of the 18th century, with works by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Johann Gottlieb Graun, Johann Christian Bach, Carl Friedrich Abel, Wilhelm Friedemann Bach and Christoph Schaffrath.
A musical evening that transports us to the salon of Princess Anna Amalia of Prussia – sister of Frederick the Great, composer, pianist and great patron of the arts – where the viola da gamba experienced its last glorious moments.
