(solo: Dimos Goudaroulis)
The distinguished and international Spanish violinist Lina tur Bonet, together with the festival’s baroque orchestra, which includes some of the most important and active musicians of the Greek baroque scene, present a two-part program and a dialogue between the music of Antonio Vivaldi and Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. In the first part of the concert, Lina tur Bonet performs one of the most famous works in the history of music, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, published exactly 300 years ago, in 1725, as part of the collection of 12 violin concertos il cimento dell’armonia e dell’inventione, op.8. The second part is dedicated to the highly original and emotionally charged music of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, which is in line with the aesthetics of the German literary movement Sturm und Drang, influences composers such as Haydn and Mozart and acts as a precursor to Romanticism.
