DIMOS DIMITRIADIS: SONGS IN REVOLUTION

Saxophonist and professor at the Ionian University Dimos Dimitriadis presents an international quintet in excerpts from his works Songs in Revolution and Dream Modes. The music includes arrangements of songs from the deep European and Mediterranean past and new compositions with an evocative and cinematic character in original rhythmic and improvisational forms. The quintet includes leading musicians of the newer international jazz scene: Aaron Goldberg (collaborator with Joshua Redman, Wynton Marsalis, Betty Carter, Charles Lloyd, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Nicholas Payton, Al Foster, Freddie Hubbard, among others) Ferenc Nemeth (collaborator with Christian McBride, John Patitucci, Lionel Loueke, John Abercrombie), Petros Klampanis and Andreas Polyzogopoulos.
