G. Mahler: Symphony No. 2 (“Resurrection”)
This year’s Easter Concert of the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Thessaloniki at the Concert Hall includes the emblematic ‘Resurrection’ Symphony by Gustav Mahler, with the participation of major opera singers and two choirs. This wonderful work by Mahler concerns the difficulties and tragic nature of human life before concluding with the idea of a redeeming death leading us from the troubles of life to a better world through the Final Judgement. The hope of Resurrection fills our hearts: “Rise again, yes, rise again!”, “Die shall I in order to live.”
