The bassoon quartet "Fagottissimo" was created in 1999 when the three bassoonists from the Mihail Jora Philharmonic of Bacau: Mihai Timofti, Costica Marcut and Pavel Ionescu, together with George Hariton, first bassoon at the Moldova Philharmonic of Iasi, decided to explore the magnificent universe of this interesting instrument's timbre.
This group"s repertoire includes baroque music and reaches works composed specially for this combination of instruments.
The quartet has already had numerous performances in the country (Iasi, Bacau, Ramnicu Valcea, Craiova, Piatra Neamt, Focsani, Constanta,Pitesti,) and abroad (Italy, France, Germany, Bulgaria, Moldova, Ukraine) taking part in various festivals and playing in famous theatres such as Piccolo Reggio-Torino, Teatro Zanon-Udine, Palazzo Magnani-Reggio Emilia etc.
In 2009 Mihai Badiu became member of “Fagottissimo “ Quartett.
