57th DIMITRIA FESTIVAL
ROOTLESSrOOT: STONES & BONES
Organizer: 57th DIMITRIA FESTIVAL, DIRECTORATE FOR CULTURE-TOURISM, MUNICIPALITY OF THESSALONIKI IN COLLABORATION WITH THESSALONIKI CONCERT HALL
In “Stones and Bones”, RootlessRoot collaborate with the English sculptor Peter Randall-Page and create a performance about the impermanence of human existence.
The white marble is placed at the center – the material with the metaphysical dimension, the foundation of European civilization – even though its natural location is within majestic mountains and beyond theatrical conventions.
In Stones and Bones, four female performers, accompanied by the original musical composition of Vassilis Mantzoukis, create a poem about the fragile nature of human existence and the need to leave our mark on the world.
Art direction & Choreography Rootlessroot – Linda Kapetanea, Jozef Fruček
The tour of the show Stones & Bones is supported by the “Exostrefeia” program of the Onassis Foundation and is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
