The show Low / heroes, A hyper-cycle Berlinois was first presented in March 2015 at the Philharmonie de Paris in front of 4,000 spectators, on the occasion of the famous exhibition David Bowie Is. The whole project is based on the relationship between the two symphonies written by Philip Glass using material from the works of the same name by David Bowie, adorned by the show The diary of Nathan Adler, written by Bowie himself.
The show consists of three parts:
1. Low Symphony: screening of a black-and-white film, written for this particular symphony and filmed in Berlin.
2. The second part of the show is Le Journal de Nathan Adler, a text written by David Bowie in 1995. In this part of the show, actor Bertrand Belin stands on stage reciting the text by David Bowie, accompanied by musician Stef Kamil Carlens, playing the guitar and the sampler. This short text was written by David Bowie himself and formed the basis of his album Outside, which he and his partner Brian Eno created in September 1995.
3. The third and final part of the show is the symphony Heroes which is performed, similarly to the first part, by all the musicians, while at the same time an excellent choreography by the dancers Frederic Tavernini and Louise Lecavalier is screened.
