RICHARD WAGNER: THE FLYING DUTCHMAN (recorded)

Organizer: TCH WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE ANTENNA GROUP

Opera in three acts, libretto by Richard Wagner
With Greek subtitles
Run time interval includec: 2 hours & 45 minutes
François Girard, after his mysterious and bloody Parsiphal, one of the Met’s most profoundly anthropocentric productions in recent years, returns with another masterpiece by Wagner, The Flying Dutchman, conducted by Valery Gergiev. Evgeny Nikitin performs the role of the mysterious Dutchman who is condemned eternally to wander the seas. Anja Kampe is the faithful Senta, whose love can break the curse. Senta’s passion for the portrait of the legendary captain transforms the stage of the Met into a huge oil painting. Franz-Josef Selig is Senta’s father, Daland. Sergey Skorokhodov plays the role of the hunter Erik, while David Portillo is the steersman and Mihoko Fujimura is Mary, Senta’s nurse.
Der Fliegende Holländer is a co-production of the Metropolitan Opera, the Quebec Opera, and the Dutch National Opera, Amsterdam.
