DANAE PAPAMATTHEOU-MATSCHKE - BENEDICT KLÖCKNER - UWE MATSCHKE: LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN - MAJOR CHAMBER MUSIC WORKS

Organizer: TCH

PART I
L.v. Beethoven: Trio for piano, violin and cello in C Minor, Op. 1, No. 3

PART II
L.v. Beethoven: Trio for piano, violin and cello in B flat major, Op. 97, Archduke
When Beethoven first moved to Vienna, he studied alongside Haydn and resided in the palace of Prince Lichnowsky. During this period, he prepared the first edition of his works with the then popular trio for piano, violin and cello.
In the first part of this concert, the most important work from this period (1793/94), the Piano trio in C Minor, will be performed. A demanding and combative work, full of self-confidence and rhythmic rage, a forerunner of other important works by the composer in this key.
The second part follows with the grand Archduke Piano Trio (1811), one of the finest chamber music works, with a symphonic expanse and structure, a work that is deeply lyrical, with virtuosic flashes and elements of extreme introspection.
