9th CONTEMPORARY MUSIC WORKSHOP

IN COOPERATION WITH THE SCHOOL OF MUSIC STUDIES OF A.U.TH.
It seems as though we are experiencing the end of great contestations and major breaks, as we have arrived at the end of an era.
The question for musical creators now is whether contemporary composers will listen to the times and recognise that the past has come full circle, while at the same time daring to accept with love and respect anything that has occurred through this process of evolution.  Since the period we are are in is not characterised by great conflict - rather, a lack of proposals and solutions - we are obligated to provide an answer in our own way: everything that we experienced during the years of questioning were in our favour and we must in no way invalidate them; despite the fact that historic irony is on the side of the consequences of evolution and rarely on the side of those who were inspired to bring it about.
Nevertheless, the 9th Contemporary Music Workshop is a deposition of innocence, a transformation of the talent of young creators into a source of humanism and spiritual self sufficiency, achieving to the greatest possible degree their personal self realisation as action - knowledge - experience and a way out on their journey.
