STARTS OF MUSIC & CINEMA: ANDRE RIEU & THE JOHANN STRAUSS ORCHESTRA IN SAO PAOLO
IN COOPERATION WITH THE THESSALONIKI FRIENDS OF MUSIC ASSOCIATION
An homage to an exciting concert whose main theme was Music without borders, with popular lead violinist, conductor, and orchestrator André Rieu and the Johan Strauss Orchestra, held in Brazil.
The 90-minute concert was held at the State Stadium of Sao Paulo (capacity: 50,000) for 30 consecutive sold out performances, with such performers as Carmen Monarcha, Carla Maffioletti, Kimmy Skota and the three Platin Tenors (Gary Bennett, Thomas Greuel, and Beta Marrack).
Songs included are: Tiritomba, Nessun Dorma, Hallelujah, Hava Nagila, Manha de Carnaval, Radetzky March, Tico Tico, Brasil, Ai Se Eu Te Pego.
Wonderful melodies, exceptional soloists and waltzes caused tears, laughter and excitement to an audience of all ages that participated through song, dance, clapping and cheering.
The event is part of the educational programme of the Thessaloniki Friends of Music Association.
