STARS OF MUSIC & CINEMA: HOMAGE TO GILBERT BECAUD
IN COOPERATION WITH THE “FRIENDS OF MUSIC OF THESSALONIKI”
A 90-minute concert by Gilbert Bécaud - beginning to end- to be presented at Thessaloniki Concert Hall by journalist Lefteris Kongalidis. The material comes from its personal archives. Bécaud and Aznavour were the two top French singers in the second half of the twentieth century.
Bécaud’s greatest hits among Greek audiences include: Je t’Appartiens (1955), Le Jour où la pluie Viendra (1957), Et Maintenant (What Now my Love, 1961), Nathalie (1964), L’ Important c’est la Rose (1967), Je Reviens te Chercher (1967).
A composer, lyricist and pianist, Bécaud shown for 50 years on performing stages. He was born on 24 October1927 in Toulon and died at the age of 74 in Paris, on 18 December 2001.
