MUSIC & MOVIE STARS: CHRISTMAS WITH J. GARLAND & B. CROSBY

T.C.H. - THESSALONIKI FRIENDS OF MUSIC SOCIETY
On Monday 19 December, journalist Lefteris Kogkalidis will present two forgotten Christmas specials from the 60s starring Judy Garland and Bing Crosby, with material from his private archive.
Judy Garland’s show aired in 1965 and was filmed entirely inside a replica of the great singer and actress’ residence in Brentwood, California. She is joined on stage by her children Liza Minnelli and Lorna and Joey Luft, and guest stars Jack Jones and Mel Torme. Additional singers and dancers make appearances and the soundtrack is comprised of Christmas carols and musical hits.
Crosby’s Christmas special is hosted by his wife Kathryn Grant and Gene Kelly, with guest appearances by Fred Astaire, David Bowie, Carol Burnett, Jackie Gleason, Mary Martin, Melba Moore, Roy Clark, Twiggy, and more. Excerpts from various Bing Crosby Christmas shows are included.
Each show is approximately 50 minutes long.
