Composer and pianist Tania Giannouli and her ensemble present her new album Transcendence, released by New Zealand’s art-music label Rattle. It includes elements of improvisation, chamber music with influences from 21^st century avant guard music, post-impressionism, contemporary European jazz, but also world music. The performance is accompanied by videos made by Italian videomaker Marcantonio Lunardi.
Transcendence has received excellent reviews in Greece and abroad from distinguished music critics and has made many “Best of 2015” lists in Greece, Canada, Portugal and Korea.
The Tania Giannouli Ensemble has performed at the Apollon Theatre during the 2^nd Syros Jazz Festival, at the Onassis Foundation House of Arts & Letters, at the Angelos & Leto Katakouzenos House Museum, at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Visitors Centre and at the Patras International Festival.
