N. XYDAKIS - Y. ANDREOU: AN IMPORTANT MEETING ON STAGE

The long-awaited on-stage meeting between Nikos Xydakis and Yiorgos Andreou is finally happening! The two creators’ work is well-known to all and is undoubtedly an active part of our musical culture. The great interest in this meeting lies in their ‘hidden’ work, in their ‘drawer’ - where treasures and fragments have been waiting for the right time to come to light. The two musicians know each other very well. They first met at ‘Sirius’, Manos Hadjidakis’ record label, and their meeting led to a cooperation between Andreou and Xydakis with the latter as a musician on stage, as well as an orchestrator, co-producer and sound engineer of the former’s important recordings. At the same time, Nikos Xydakis was the artistic supervisor of the production of Yiorgos Andreou’s first recording, ‘baptising’ him in his early steps in discography. However, from the early 90s, they have never performed or recorded music together, even though their musical careers are related and have crossed paths.
