The Swedish dramatic soprano Nina Stemma debuts at the MET performing the highly demanding role of Princess Turandot, the aloof Chinese princess, while Anita Hartig debuts at the MET performing in the role of the angelic slave-girl Liù. Marco Berti performs as Calaf, the suitor who risks his head for the hand of Turandot, and Alexander Tsymbalyuk performs as Timur. Paolo Carignani conducts the sensational production of Zeffirelli first staged in 1987.
