Liu Yanhua
Soprano
Liu Yanhua completed her musical studies as B.M. at China Conservatory of Music and studied with Ke-Ping Li, baritone; M.M. at Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin and studied with Wagner Soprano Professor Uta Priew and Soprano Professor Carola Nossek. Currently studying her Doctoral Program at Chonnam National University in Korea.
Since 2010 Liu Yanhua has performed roles in operas included Melisande in Pelleas et Meilisande, Bystrouska in Bystrouska, Agathe in Die Freischütz, Arminda in La finta giardiniera, and Zijun in Chinese opera Shangshi at Berlin, Nürnberg, Hangzhou and Beijing. In 2015 Liu Yanhua joined Novoflot Opera Company in Berlin and performed as “herself” in contemporary opera The T-Haus Tour. In the past two years, Liu Yanhua has sung as Turandot in Beijing, Hangzhou and South Korea.
Liu Yanhua has been invited to many concert and festivals as soloist including Open air Konzert in Konzerthaus Berlin, Midsummer music festival in Berlin, Opening concert of Salzburg Music festival, Lesbos Opera House in Greek, Staatstheater Nürnberg, Der Ring in Minden in Germany, and Mallorca Concert Hall in Spain. She was also the leading soprano of Pegolesi's "Stabat Mater" at the famous Gedächtnis church in Berlin, and as the first soprano of leading sopranos in Mahler Symphony No.8 at the closing concert of the 2019 Hangzhou International Music Festival, as the leading soprano in the Beethoven Choral Fantasia at the 2020 Hangzhou International Music Festival, sung “Four last songs” of Richard Strauss at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in 2020。
Liu Yanhua was selected from Berlin and as finalist of Neue Stimmen International Singing Competition in 2013, Young Artist Scholarship from Universität der Künste Berlin, and 3rd prize in International Vocal Competition at Kalisz in 2018. And, Global Prize Scholarship in Korea. Liu has worked with many famous masters such as Grace Bumbry, Cheryl Studer, Thomas Quastoff, Siegfried Jerusalem, and Diana Forlano.
Liu Yanhua has also participated in many New Year concerts in China, including Chengdu, Wenzhou, and Jiaozuo.
