Mikhail Gavrilov

Violin
Born in Taipei in 2006, he began learning the violin at the age of five and started formal training at eleven under Professor Li Tsan-Yang. At thirteen, he pursued advanced studies with Semen Elizarov at the Gnessin State Musical College in Moscow. Due to the pandemic, he later returned to study at Nanmen Junior High School and Zhongzheng Senior High School. At sixteen, he was admitted into the preparatory program of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW). At eighteen, he entered as a full student and is currently studying under Professor Anton Sorokow and Assistant Professor Philipp Krylov.
He has participated in international music camps such as the Gnessin Summer School, Tchaikovsky Conservatory Winter School, and Allegro Vivo, receiving professional training, and has been guided by renowned masters including Tatyana Berkul, Lev Solodovnikov, Eugeniy Chevkenov and Peter Heeresthal.

Mikhail has received wide recognition on the international stage:
• Musica Goritiensis: 2nd Prize in 2023; 1st Prize in 2024, followed by a performance at the winners’ concert.
• The North International Competition 2023: 1st Prize.
• Giovani Musicisti 2024: 1st Prize with full marks, and in the same year was invited to give a solo recital in Treviso, Italy.
• Invited to perform at the winners’ concert of ISMC at Hamburg’s Laeiszhalle, where he was awarded 1st Prize.
• 1st International Violin Competition Academia Musica Plovdiv 2024: 1st Prize and the Special Award from the Rector; invited to perform a solo recital at the International Chamber Music Festival in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, in June 2025.
• Hong Kong International Music Festival 2025: 1st Prize in the Violin Youth Division, and invited to perform at the winners’ concert and closing ceremony.
• 2025 Jenő Hubay Violin Competition: 2nd Prize and the qualification to Ilona Fehér Violin Competition
• 2026 Stefanie Hohl Violin Competition by MDW: 1st Prize and will perform Four Seasons from Vivaldi with the FVG Chamber Orchestra
 
Beyond Europe, he is also active in Taiwan:
• In 2023, he gave his first solo recital at the Taipei Sounds Good Concert Hall.
• In February 2025, he performed with pianist Rafael Tseng at the Eslite Performance Hall.
• In August of the same year, he co-hosted another concert at the Grace Baptist Church, both of which received full acclaim
• In July 2026 he will make his debut at National Concert Hall in Taipei (Rrcital Hall)
