Iordache Basalic

Iordache Basalic has been a soloist of the Bucharest National Opera since 1995. A finalist of the first edition of the “Hariclea Darclée” National Singing Competition in Brăila that same year, he was also awarded the Special Prize of the “Hariclea Darclée” Foundation at the first international edition of the same competition, in 1997.
In 1998, he received the Best Soloist of the Year Award for his portrayal of Giorgio Germont in La Traviata by G. Verdi, awarded by the magazine Actualitatea Muzicală.
In 1999, he was awarded the Special Jury Prize at the “Hariclea Darclée” International Singing Competition in Brăila, and in 2002 he won the casting for Verdi’s Macbeth at the Spoleto Festival.
Baritone Iordache Basalic has toured internationally in countries such as the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Spain, Greece, Germany, Italy, Japan, Bulgaria, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Thailand.
Throughout his career, he has collaborated with numerous opera houses both in Romania and abroad, including: The Romanian Opera in Cluj, The Romanian National Opera in Timișoara, The Brașov Opera, The “Elena Teodorini” Lyric Theatre in Craiova, The “Nae Leonard” Musical Theatre in Galați, The “Oleg Danovski” National Opera and Ballet Theatre in Constanța, The “Moldova” State Philharmonic in Iași, Concertgebouw - Amsterdam, De Doelen - Rotterdam, Chassé Theater - Breda, Bunkamura Theater - Tokyo Over the course of his career, Iordache Basalic has performed alongside renowned names of the international opera scene, such as Agnes Baltsa, Mario Malagnini, Elena Moșuc, Igor Borko, Alberto Rinaldi, and Luis Lima, and has toured extensively throughout Europe and Asia.
