Sofia Tsygankova
Soprano
Sofia Tsygankova is a soloist of the Moscow Helikon Opera Theatre.
She graduated from the Pirogovs Ryazan Music College ( the class of Lyubov Yachmennikova) and received a master's degree from the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music (the class of Professor Ruzanna Lisitsian). In 2019, she studied at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts (the class of Professor Bernhard Adler).
Sofia is the laureate of national and international competitions, a participant of the Opera Class project at the Elena Obraztsova Foundation (2020), the Opera Artists Youth Programme at the Helikon Opera Moscow Musical Theatre (season 2022/2023), and a finalist of the 7th season of the 'Bolshaya Opera' project on the Rossiya-Kultura TV channel (2023). In 2024, she participated in the VII Ildar Abdrazakov International Music Festival.
In 2023, she became a soloist of the Helikon Opera Theatre. Her repertoire includes the vocal parts of Pamina (Mozart's The Magic Flute), Marfa (Rimsky-Korsakov's The Tsar's Bride), Violetta (Verdi's La Traviata), Michaela (Bizet's Carmen), Monica (Menotti's The Medium), Lisette (Bach's Coffee Cantata) and others.
She made her debut with the musicAeterna Orchestra and Choir in Mahler's Symphony No. 2 in 2025 as part of the Anniversary Tour of Russia across Italy and Spain. She also performed the solo part in Mahler's Symphony No. 4 in a concert by the Russian National Youth Orchestra conducted by Teodor Currentzis in the spring of 2025.
