musicAeterna Choir
The musicAeterna orchestra and choir are among the most in-demand ensembles. They were founded in 2004 by conductor Teodor Currentzis. The ensemble consists of musicians from 10 countries. Their repertoire encompasses famous old masterpieces, works from the 19th and 20th centuries, and experimental contemporary compositions.
Together with Teodor Currentzis, musicAeterna regularly tours Russia and across the globe, performing at the most prestigious venues. In 2017, musicAeterna became the first Russian music collective to open the main programme of the Salzburg Festival. The orchestra has participated in such international festivals as RUHRtriennale, Klara Festival in Brussels, Aix-en-Provence Festival, Diaghilev P.S. in St. Petersburg, and Diaghilev Festival in Perm.
The choir collaborates with such guest conductors as Andres Mustonen, Paul Douglas Hillier, Vincent Dumestre, Raphaël Pichon, Andrea Marcon, and others. The choir's partners include the French ensemble Le Poème Harmonique and the international Mahler Chamber Orchestra. In 2018, the musicAeterna choir became the laureate of the international Opera Awards.
The recordings of Mozart, Mahler, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Rameau, and Stravinsky made by the musicAeterna Orchestra and Teodor Currentzis have received great acclaim from music critics and won prestigious awards, namely ECHO KLASSIK, Edison Klassiek, Japanese Record Academy Award, and BBC Music Magazine's Opera Award.
In 2018, the musicAeterna choir became the laureate of the international Opera Awards.
