La Vaghezza
Music Ensemble
La Vaghezza is an ensemble specializing in the historically informed performance of music from the 17th and 18th centuries. They recently became the first group to win all three prizes at the Handel Gottingen Competition (2018), and received first prize in the Maurizio Pratola Competition (2016). They are currently in their third year of support on the prestigious EEEmerging young artist’s scheme.
Since their founding in 2016 they have been invited to play in some of the world’s most important early music festivals such as Innsbruck Festival, Utrecht Early Music Festival, Bruges MA Festival, Monteverdi Festival Cremona, Gottingen Handel Festspiele, Ambronay Festival, in Vezelay Cité de la Voix, Valletta International Festival, Festival MiTo, at the Auditorium de Lyon, etc. Their first CD will be released on Ambronay Editions (Outhere) in 2020.
The members of La Vaghezza are all highly sought after musicians in their own right, working closely with artists such as Alfredo Bernardini, Enrico Onofri, Jordi Savall, Rachel Podger, Amandine Bayer, and with ensembles such as Il Pomo d’Oro, Orquestra Barroca de Sevilla, Venice Baroque Orchestra, Modo Antiquo, Les Arts Florissants.
