An internationally recognized pianist, Rita Bouboulidi has played as soloist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra in Boston and in New York performing the Schoenberg Concerto and gave the New York premiere of Ned Rorem's Piano Concerto with the American Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. Ms Bouboulidi has also appeared as the soloist with the Pittsburgh and Baltimore Symphony Orchestras, the London Philharmonia, the Munich Philharmonic, the Orquestra Sinfonica Nacional of Mexico City, the Hague Residentie Orchestra, the Paris Societe des Concerts du Conservatoire, the Oslo Philharmonic and the Liege Philharmonic, among others. Ms. Bouboulidi has performed with eminent conductors such as: Bernard Haitink, Sergiu Commissiona, Herbert Blomstedt, Herrera de la Fuente, Erich Leinsdorf, Andrew Parrott and others. Concert Pianist Rita Bouboulidi made headlines by performing the complete cycle of all thirty-two Beethoven sonatas in seven consecutive recitals, a feat which she repeated on ten other occasions in the United States and Europe. Some recent recitals by Ms. Bouboulidi include performances at the Kennedy Center's Terrace Theatre in Washington D.C., Wolf Trap Festival for the Performing Arts In Vienna, Virginia, La Redoute in Bonn, (Germany), the Boston Atheneum, several recitals in Tokyo, the Athens Concert Hall, the "Chopin Festival" (Czech Republic), the Bratislava Music Festival (Slovakia). Ms. Bouboulidi has toured throughout the world including three concert tours in the former Soviet Union. She has participated in the festivals of Athens, Bratislava, Salzburg, Scheveningen, the "Great Recitals" series of the Societe Philharmonique de Bruxelles European Festival, the Guanajuato Festival in Mexico, and has performed on live television and on radio broadcasts in Europe, Latin America and the United States, including New York City's WQXR radio station. She has recorded for Erato Records and Disques Charlin. Born in Athens, Ms. Bouboulidi graduated from both the Conservatory of Music and the Classical Lyceum there. She continued her studies at the National Conservatory of Music in Paris and, while a student at the conservatory, won a Premiere Medaille at the Geneva International Piano Competition. She studied with Edwin Fischer for five years in Lucerne and with Nadia Boulanger in Paris. Currently Rita Bouboulidi resides in New York City.
