PIANO RECITAL: RUDOLF BUCHBINDER

Organizer: THESSALONIKI CONCERT HALL
A world authority on Ludwig van Beethoven’s piano sonatas, the legendary pianist Rudolf Buchbinder returns to Thessaloniki and to the stage of the Thessaloniki Concert Hall. With a career spanning over 60 years, the Austrian artist never ceases to impress with the spontaneity and immediacy of his interpretations. His readings of works from the great piano repertoire combine tradition with innovation, fidelity with freedom, authenticity with breadth of spirit, surrounded by an unwavering passion. The pianist, who has performed the complete cycle of Beethoven’s 32 sonatas more than 60 times—often over seven consecutive days—states: “I am not finished with these works. Each time, I learn something new. Each time, they present a challenge.”
