CHOIR WORKSHOP «MUSIC FROM INSIDE OUT: VOCAL EDUCATION & MUSIC PEDAGOGY IN CHORAL ACT»

The Thessaloniki Music Friends Association is organizing a two-day choral workshop on September 20^th and 21^st, with the participation of the 100 children who form the Association's three choirs: Nursery, Children's and Youth Choir. During the workshop, the children are going to have the opportunity to learn new songs, with specialized vocal guidance from leading guest music educators and conductors.
The choir workshop will also be open to conductors who wish to attend it as a training activity. At the same time, a Music Pedagogy Seminar will be held, focusing on choral act, specially designed for the participating conductors. The two-day event will conclude with a final presentation, open to the public, where the results of the creative work of the children and the instructors will be presented.
The workshop program will include choir songs from various countries, with a variety of themes and different musical styles, adapted to the level of each chorus, with corresponding levels of difficulty.
This year's guest conductor is Birgitte Næslund Madsen, one of the most important figures on the Danish choral scene. With extensive activity both in Denmark and internationally, she stands out for her dual work as a conductor and singer, mainly through the vocal ensemble Concert Clemens. At the same time, she is particularly active as a workshop director and guest conductor at a national and international level, with a number of recent and upcoming collaborations.
The Children's and Youth Choirs of the Music Friends Association of Thessaloniki as well as conductors, music educators, singers and music teachers of all levels of education, will actively participate in the seminar.
