In the mid-1940s, Ástor Piazzolla transformed tango by introducing elements of jazz and classical music, reshaping the passion, melancholy and expressiveness of Argentine folk music into what became known worldwide as Nuevo Tango (new tango).
In the Concert Hall Square, the Transcription Ensemble will present iconic works from the rich legacy of the brilliant Argentine composer, transcribed for small ensemble.
