Panagiotis Maniatis

Tenor Panagiotis Maniatis studied at the Macedonian Conservatory in Thessaloniki and graduated in 2003 attaining his diploma in singing. He has attended several seminars concerning singing and melodramatics (L. Alva, J. Sutherland, D. Iordachescou) and has also apprenticed next to tenor Rumen Doykov at the Sofia National Opera. 
During his artistic carrer he had  his operatic debut while  singing the main role of Acis in a production of G. F. Händel's Acis & Galatea,earning favorable reviews. Since then he has sung several operatic roles by collaborating with major theaters and orchestras both  in Greece (Thessaloniki Opera, Thessaloniki State Orchestra, Greek National Opera and other) and abroad (mainly Germany, Italy and the Netherlands).
He has interpreted roles such as; Michelis in the opera Greek passion by B. Martinu (conductor Christian von Gehren), Alfred - Die Fledermaus, Alfredo/Gastone - La Traviata,  Beppe - I Pagliacci and  pastore in Edipo Re by R. Leoncavallo (conductor E. Fresis), I Puritani - V. Bellini (conductor Giuliano Carella), Salome - R.Strauss, Spoletta in Tosca – G. Puccini, Des Grieux in Manon by  J. Massenet, Tito in Mozart’s  La clemenxa di Tito and several other.
He has sung as soloist in W.A.Mozart’s Requiem and has recorded opera arias by  J. Massenet for the State Theater of Northern Greece. He has performed and sung in several concerts and recitals with piano or orchestra.
He has been prize awarded during the singing competition of the 6th International Music Festival (April 2004) in the island of Rhodes.  
He has also acquired a diploma in chemical engineering (Aristoteles University)
