Prague Symphony Orchestra

The Prague Symphony Orchestra is the official orchestra of the capital city of Prague. The orchestra is a leading Czech musical ensemble with established and renowned international reputation. It contributes significantly to the concert scene in the Czech capital and at the same time promotes the Czech culture abroad. The orchestra was founded in 1934 and the abbreviation “FOK”, which is also often used, stands for the “Film Opera Concert”, which was the ensemble’s original focus. In 2015, Pietari Inkinen assumed the role of Chief Conductor and José Cura, the role of Artist in Residence.
