Little Singers of Armenia

Little Singers of Armenia was founded in 1992 under the auspices of the Armenian Little Singers International Association and Yerevan Municipality, bringing together talented youths from Yerevan and the surrounding provinces. The choir has become an international sensation, and its repertoire is extremely varied including sacred, medieval, renaissance, classical, jazz, and contemporary music.
Little Singers of Armenia has performed extensively in cities and countries throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America. The choir’s performances have enthralled audiences in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium, Russia, Latvia, Poland, Greece, Cyprus, Georgia, China, Japan, Egypt, South Africa, Canada, and in twenty states of the United States of America.
The talent of this choir is evident in its many competitive achievements throughout the musical world. Among its accomplishments are several silver medals at the Roodepoort International Eisteddfod of South Africa, in 1993, and the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales, UK, in 1994. The choir also won gold and silver medals at the Golden Gate International Children’s and Youth Choral Festival in San Francisco, California, USA, in 1995.
Aside from competitions, the choir has also participated in various international festivals including, but not limited to, the Basel International Festival (Basel, Switzerland, 1995); Hong Kong and Beijing International Festivals (China, 1999); EXPO 2000 (Hannover, Germany); the Sixth World Symposium on Choral Music (Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, 2002); Dimitria International Festival (Thessaloniki, Greece, 2002); Armenian American Choral Festival Song of Unity (Armenia, 2004, 2006); Children’s Friendship on the Planet (Moscow, Russia, 2010); and Let the Future Sing International Festival (Stockholm, Sweden, 2012), European Festival of Youth Choirs (Basel , Switzerland, 2014).
These many accolades have earned the choir international acclaim. The Little Singers of Armenia were recognized as a Choir of the European Union, nominated as Cultural Ambassador by the European Federation of Choirs in 2001, and awarded the Leonardo da Vinci silver medal by the European Academy of Natural Sciences. The choir has also received some of the highest awards bestowed by the President of Armenia as well as the country’s Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Science and Education, and the Mayor of Yerevan.
The Little Singers of Armenia often perform under famous conductors, participate in significant state programs, such as the Cultural Days of Armenia in Russia (2001), the 80th anniversary of Charles Aznavour in Paris (2004), the Year of Armenia in Russia (2006), and the Year of Armenia in France (2007).
The choir has released a triple-disc album Parsegh Ganatchian: Complete Works (1997); a triple-disc album Fiat Lux (2009); Robert Petrosyan Choral Works  written special for LSA (2011, Armenia),  Furusato (2012) dedicated to concert tour of Japan, and 20 Years of Music (2013) dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the choir.
Some of these recordings have received national and international awards and prizes.
