Prof. Azad Aliyev

Conductor
Azad Aliyev was born in a well-known Azerbaijan musicians’ family in Baku in 1951. He graduated from Baku State Conservatoire on “fortepiano” and “vocal” and also master-course of conduct.
He is the Chief Editor and Head Conductor of the Symphonic Orchestra of Azerbaijan Radio and Television, named after famous conductor Niyazi since 2006.
Azad Aliyev is also the Director and Executive Manager of Opera Studio of Baku Academy of Music, and co-conductor of Azerbaijan State Philharmonic.
He has orchestrated several compositions, such as Requiem by W.A.Mozart, Requiem by G.Verdi; Symphony № 1, № 3, № 4 by L.Beethoven; Symphony № 39, № 40, № 41 by W.Mozart; Symphony № 1, № 2, №3 by I.Brahms; Symphony № 8, № 9 by Ant. Dvorjak; Symphony № 5, № 6 by P.Tchaikovsky, Opera La Traviata, Il Trovatore, Aida by G.Verdi; Pagliacci by R.Leoncavallo etc.
In 2006 A.Aliyev staged the national musical comedy Arshin Mal Alan by U.Hajibeyov at the Camera Opera Theater in Vienna, Austria.
He performed in Germany, Turkey, Israel, Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Lithuania etc.
