Athanasios Papaisiou

Piano
Athanasios Papaisiou was born in Thessaloniki.
He studied Law at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He received a Law Degree and holds a master degree in Sociology of Law. 
He also studied Piano at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki (class of Nora Loukidou) and received a Diploma in piano performance. He continued his studies at North College (Department of the London College of Music at Thames Valley University - class of George Thymis) and obtained the Diploma of Licentiateship and the Diploma of Fellowship in piano performance (Master) of the London College of Music.
Furthermore, he studied piano with Martino Tirimo, Richard Syracuse, Viktor Merzhanov and Raphael Terroni, harpsichord with Katerina Vlatis and Gerassimos Hoidas, and piano accompaniment with Dimitris Yakas, Sergio Magli, Ulrich Rademacher, Kurt Equiluz and Bogdan Stanev.
His fields of interest focus on the baroque and the romantic period of music and the music of the National Music Schools of the Balkans. He worked as a piano teacher and as a collaborative pianist in various conservatories.
He participated as a collaborative pianist in the Thessaloniki Chamber Opera, as an orchestra pianist in concerts of the State and the Municipal Orchestra of Thessaloniki and the Orchestra of the State Conservatory, and as a harpsichordist in the baroque orchestra of the State Conservatory.
He was the pianist of various choirs of Thessaloniki.
In the context of the above activities, he gave solo recitals and participated in concerts in Greece and abroad (Austria, Spain, South Africa, Hungary, Turkey, etc.).
Since 1996 he works at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki as a collaborative pianist at the Singing/Opera department.
