Szymon Krzeszowiec received his education from tutors such as Herman Krebbers, Roman Lasocki, Krzysztof Wκgrzyn. Involved in very extensive performing activity as a soloist as well as a chamber musician, Szymon Krzeszowiec has been giving concerts in most European countries, but also in China, South Korea, Mexico and USA.
He has made numerous recordings, for Sony Classical, ECM, EMI, DUX, Radio Katowice. Has been a laureate of the violin competitions in Brescia, Poznaρ and Warsaw.
Since 2001 he has been leading one of Poland's best chamber music ensembles - the Silesian String Quartet. The quartet has received a.o. “Gold Orpheus” Award for the best interpretation of a Polish composer at the Warsaw Autumn Festival in 2002, the “Fryderyk” Award for the best chamber music album in 2004, and in 2008 – the Medal “Well-Deserved for Culture Gloria Artis”. Szymon Krzeszowiec appears also in Danish/Polish String Trio Aristos which received first prizes on the chamber music competitions in Copenhagen and Sondershausen in 2006.
He also co-operates with pianist Wojciech Œwita³a; the two have released the recording of the complete violin sonatas by Johannes Brahms. Since 2004 he has been coaching at International Chamber Arts Festival Ensemble in KsiΉΏ. Szymon Krzeszowiec was the one to initiate the International Violin Festival in Katowice, he is also an artistic director of the International Academy of Arts in Zakopane.
Apart from the performing activity, Szymon Krzeszowiec is teaching at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, being a chairman of its violin department.
