Stephanos Andreadis

He was born in Athens. He studied guitar, music theory and jazz improvisation and finally took a Diploma in composition with the greatest honor and 1st prize. He consequently did his postgraduate studies at Nottingham University (Master of Musical Arts - Doctor of Musical Arts).
As a guitarist and composer he has worked with many important Greek and foreign musicians, having being involved in concerts, international jazz festivals and recordings for radio and television. His works have being performed in Greece, England and Bulgaria. His work Nemesis was awarded with the “Hallward Prize for Musical Composition 2003”, while in the same year Μelos I was finalist in the “Αuros” International Composition Competition in the USA. His works Klimax and Μelos I were distinguished in the 2nd and 3rd Pan-Hellenic Chamber Music Competition (2004, 2005). He has received commissions from Athens Concert Hall, London Sinfonietta, University of Nottingham, Greek Composers Union, «Kreutzer String Quartet» and the Orchestra of the Municipality of Patras.
He is a member of Greek Composers Union and an active jazz guitarist. In 2010 he recorded his second personal album Flying Jazz, with the participations of G. Kontrafouris, D. Dimitriadis and Al. Drakos Ktistakis. Since 2007 he teaches jazz theory, composition, improvisation and guitar at the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University.
