LECTURE: OLYMPIC GAMES 2024 - ROUND TABLE - ON THE WAY TO PARIS: OLYMPIC GAMES & EQUALITY

Twenty years after the Olympic Games in Athens and five months before the Paris Games, the Organizing Committee “Paris 2024” has announced that this will be the first Olympic event in which the number of men and women participating will be exactly the same.
On the occasion of International Women's Day, female athletes—Olympic winners and champions—describe their past and present experiences trying to answer the question of whether the journey of women athletes towards equality is still a challenge or this peak has already been conquered.
 
Voula Patoulidou, Olympic gold medalist in the 100 m. hurdles (Barcelona, 1992), Deputy Regional Governor of Thessaloniki
Anastasia Kelesidou, Olympic silver medalist in discus throwing (Sydney, 2000, Athens, 2004), elected member of the HAF Board and representative of the Federation in the IOC
Evangelia Psarra, 7th Olympic Champion (individual) and 5th Olympic Champion (team) (Athens, 2004), participation in six Olympic Games
Theodora Paschalidou, 7th Paralympic champion in judo category J1 -70k (Tokyo, 2021), Gold medal at the European Judo Championship for the blind (Rotterdam, 2023), qualified for the Paralympic Games in Paris
Christina Moschi, 4th at the European Championship in Tallinn in 10 m. air pistol, qualified for the Olympic Games in Paris

Delphine Racinet-Réau, Olympic silver medalist (Sydney, 2000), Olympic bronze medalist in trap shooting (London, 2012) will participate in the discussion live from Paris

Sports journalist Eugenia Gita will host the discussion.
