H. Berlioz: Introduction from Opera Benvenuto Cellini
S. Papanas: Fantasia concertante for viola and strings
P. de Sarasate: Zigeunerweisen, Op. 20 
J. Brahms: Symphony No. 1 in C minor, Op. 20 
The rich concert programme kicks off with the overture to Berlioz's opera Benvenuto Cellini, inspired by the life and works of the same multifaceted acclaimed artist of the Italian Renaissance. It is followed by Fantasia concertante by concertmaster of the TSSO Simos Papanas, with David-Aleksander Bogorad, another member of the TSSO, as viola soloist. Bogorad will also play, this time on the violin Sarasate Zigeunerweisen which is brimming with Gypsy themes. The programme will be rounded off with Brahms' First Symphony, a masterpiece which took the composer 14 whole years to complete.
