MUSIC IN OUR LIVES: THE ROLE OF MUSIC IN PHILOSOPHY

T.C.H. IN COOPERATION WITH THE THESSALONIKI FRIENDS OF MUSIC ASSOCIATION
Music is poetry and philosophy. Without the limitation of words and in the vast world of interchanging sounds, the soul freely expresses all of its questions, expectations, anxieties, pain, passion, sorrow, hope, joy, peace, and beauty. Music, all the while, tries to express the pragmatism of life, unchanged, with all its fluctuations, searching for a way to harmonise the existential quest for truth and the deep expectation of eternity. The mystical internal language of music turns from sound to light, directing humanity to the peaceful search for all of life’s values, through a deeply internal journey into the vastness of one’s soul.
The Thessaloniki Friends of Music Association wants to highlight the meaningful message of music’s mystical language for humanity during explorations within oneself, and are thus organising a day meeting on the subject of ‘The Role of Music in Philosophy’. Music experts and philosophers will try to develop the beauty of the philosophy of music and reveal the music hidden behind the language of philosophy in the work of musicians and philosophers during the historic journey of man towards knowledge and truth.
