MINA POLYCHRONOU - KAROLOS ZOUGANELIS
REFLECTIONS - THE TRAILS OF ROMANTICISM

T.C.H.
The attractive charm of the fantastical, lyrical element of German Romanticism on Greek music and poetry is the focus of the concert, with Mina Polychronou (soprano) and Karolos Zouganelis (piano) performing.
Drawing on the pieces by Schubert, Schumann, Wolf, Strauss, Mendelssohn, and Brahms, there will be a search for musical-poetic relevancy with the corresponding work of significant Greek representatives of Romanticism, such as Samaras, Lambelet, Spathis, and Kamilieris, shining a light on aspects of an inter-cultural dialogue that created the foundations for a enlightening cultural coexistence between the two countries. In fact, the Romanticist movement, with its imagery of nature, water, the forest, and moonlight as aspects of love, present or absent, still touches the human soul, going beyond all boundaries of time or space.
